Steve Darby 1937-2007

As former president of Darby Electric Company, Inc., Steve Darby used his vast and
varied experience in leading a successful electrical motor repair shop. Steve held a BS
in Business Administration from The Citadel (1959). He was recipient of the 1995 Small Business Person of
the Year Award in Anderson County. Steve was involved with several associations such as:
the Anderson Chamber of Commerce, Anderson Rotary Club, Anderson College Board of Trustees
and Tri-County Tech College Foundation Board. He has been a member of the Electrical
Apparatus Service Association (EASA) for over 40 years, and an active member of the EASA
Technical Service Committee since 1987.
Steve authored several articles and repair standards that are being used
in electrical motor businesses throughout the U.S. His writings include but are not
limited to Electrical Motor Rewinding Should Maintain or Enhance
Efficiency, Bearing Overview for Horizontal Machines, TIG Welded Commutator
Connections, and Electric Motor Shaft Analysis.
Steve knew the importance of finding time to give back to the community. He
was active
in local United Way campaigns and events and he always encouraged his employees to
remember the gift of giving. Steve served as President of the Tri-County
Technical College foundation board until his death in January of 2007.
Mike Darby

Mike Darby is the President and Quality Manager of Darby
Electric Company. Mike started working at Darby Electric part time at the early age of 14.
He has been with the company full time since 1983 and has experience in each department.
Mike holds a BA in Psychology from the Citadel (1983), and a BS in Electrical Engineering
Technology from Clemson University (1985).
Ben Hamilton

Ben Hamilton is the Vice President of Sales at Darby Electric Company. Ben has been
with the company since 1985 and has training and experience in many areas of
the motor repair business. He is a past President of the Southeastern
Chapter of the Electrical Apparatus Service Association (EASA). Ben holds an Associate of
Science degree in Electronics Engineering Technology and a Bachelor of Science degree in
Management Science.
Jimi Ellis

Jimi Ellis manages the warehouse at Darby Electric and has been with the
company since 1972. Jimi oversees all shipping and receiving. With over 30 years experience, Jimi's
extensive knowledge of materials used in motor repair makes him an invaluable
asset to the company.
Nikki Reid

Nikki is part of the outside sales team at Darby Electric Company. She has a B.S.
degree from Clemson University and was formerly Corporate Sales Manager for Tubetec, Inc. covering
South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, Florida, Texas, Nebraska and Minnesota.
Her background includes inside and outside sales, human resources, accounts receivable and
quality assurance.
Jeff Vaughn

Jeff Vaughn is the Rotor Department Supervisor at Darby Electric.
He started working for Darby in 1995 through his high school's co-op
program as a rotor technician and moved up to the Supervisor position in
2006. He handles scheduling of rotor work, ordering parts and
quoting all rotor jobs.
Mark Williamson

Mark Williamson joined Darby Electric in 2007 in the inside sales
department. He has worked the past ten years in Sales and
Management in the South Carolina area. Mark graduated from Erskine
College in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science degree in management.
Daniel Lollis

Daniel manages our Servo Motor repair department, and works with customers to help them
improve reliability. He also performs power quality
testing, motor efficiency
testing, vibration data collection, and variable speed drive services.
Jess Fasold

Jess Fasold is an inside salesman and purchasing specialist. He handles the
quotations and
purchasing of new equipment and renewal parts. While at Darby, Jess has received
considerable factory training. Jess has over 25 years of management experience in a manufacturing
environment, where he was responsible for the purchasing of parts, supplies and services. Fasold holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Georgia.
Tony Clinkscales

Tony Clinkscales is the Shop Coordinator and DC Department Supervisor at Darby Electric. He
oversees the coordination of repair jobs from beginning to finish. He has
been with the company since 1988 and was formerly the Servo Department Supervisor. Tony has
received training in all aspects of motor repair and has
experience in CSI vibration analysis testing and Root Cause Failure Analysis. Tony has an Associate
of Science degree in Industrial Electronics.
Ron Hunt

Ron Hunt is the AC Mechanical and Winding Supervisor and has been with Darby Electric
since 1999. Ron's motor shop experience is vast and encompasses every aspect of the
motor business - from Mechanic to Inside Sales to Department Head. He has special training and
education in several areas. He studied Electrical/Refrigeration at Oklahoma State
University and electronics at Rose State College. Ron received an Associates degree in
Business from Central State University. He also studied motor rewinding at the Electric
Power Research Institute in Austin, TX.
Dean Cleveland

Dean came to work at Darby Electric in 1983 and has held the positions
of truck driver, route salesman, outside account manager, and inside sales
representative. Dean is currently using his expertise as our Shop Customer Service Manager.
He
takes care of customer needs, schedules our trucks, and oversees
quotations and repair pricing.
Aubrey Blume

Aubrey Blume is our Machine Shop Supervisor. Aubrey earned a
machine shop technology degree in 1962 and has a lifetime of experience
in machining operations. He has been with
Darby Electric since 2003. Prior to Darby Electric, Aubrey was employed with Foundry &
Steel of Anderson, SC where he worked his way up from Machinist to CNC Programmer,
then to Shop Supervisor.
