Dry Ice Blasting

Dry Ice Blasting - A new service for electrical apparatus cleaning. Suitable for:
• Stator Windings
• Armature Windings
• Sleeve Bearing Components

• Fast thorough cleaning - Dry Ice cleaning provides a superior cleaning while reducing hours required for cleaning when compared to hand scrubbing with abrasive pads or wire brushes. Dry Ice blasting cleans in crevices that cannot be reached by hand. There is no moisture with dry ice cleaning therefore oven drying time is eliminated.

• Elimination of equipment damage - Cleaning methods such as sandblasting leave an aggresive and abrasive effect on the cleaned surface. Sandblasting can actually remove part of the surface along with the contaminant. Dry Ice is non-abrasive to surfaces. It lifts the contaminants away.

• Reduction or elimination of solvents - No solvents are used with dry ice pellets. There are no issues pertaining to toxicity. Dry ice blasting is environmentally friendly and provides for improved worker safety.

• Reduction in waste disposal - All other cleaning methods including grit blasting, glass bead blasting, steam cleaning, pressure washing and solvent cleaning generate a secondary contaminant that must be disposed of. In some cases the secondary contaminant is a toxic material. With dry ice blasting the CO2 pellet vaporizes upon contact and the only waste created is the contaminant itself. This results in a significant waste reduction.

Dry Ice blasting removes surface contaminants. The dry ice pellets turn from a solid into a harmless gas on impact and dissipate completely. This leaves only the loose contaminants for disposal.

Non-toxic | Non-conductive | Non-abrasive
